Second Surgery Update

Friends,

The surgery is complete, and the surgeon said things went very well, "as best as they could go."  They removed the very large mass, and a kidney with it, yet, in spite of the size, did not damage the blood vessels, or the spleen, or pancreas.  They removed it clean, and he lost very little blood.  They did not remove any part of the lungs, and the belief is that the spots on the lungs will clear by his own immune system and/or further treatment, now that the main source has been removed.

They anticipate the pathology results to come on Tuesday or Wednesday.  At that time, we will know what type of cancer, whether Renal or Adrenal.  We are hoping and praying that it is Renal, because patients with Renal cancer respond better to treatment.

We are so thankful that the surgery went smoothly.  Thank you for all of your prayers.

Christian will be recovering in the ICU for now. Keri will update you with a visitor schedule, as we know that encouragement from friends will be so helpful for his recovery.  At the same time, rest is also necessary for his recovery, so we ask that visiters abide by the boundaries of the schedule.

Thank you again, and Praise God, Our Healer, and our Guide.  May rest be upon Keri and Christian tonight, and the family, and rest upon the kids back at home.

We'll be in touch soon!

Angie
