New Year Update

Happy New Year to everyone!  Christian continues to heal well and is preparing for treatment, so I thought now would be a good time to give a medical-related update.

Since my last medical-related update, we've visited two more oncologists for a second and third opinion.  First, we met with a sarcoma oncologist at a Sarcoma Center at the Univ. of MI.  Most recently, on Monday, we got a third opinion from an oncologist here at Community North who partners with M D Anderson Cancer Center in Texas.  Both seemed to agree with the next course of action suggested by our local Sarcoma oncologist at IU.  I guess that's the purpose of getting a second and third opinion to confirm things.

So what's next?  We attack those lung nodules!!!

We see the sarcoma oncologist (Dr. Rushing) at IU next Wednesday the 9th.  Christian will get his baseline CT scan and meet with the doctor to start his chemo treatments (it may be that same day or shortly following).

We pray that Christian receives the trial drug (it's a 50/50 chance) in addition to the first-line chemo drug.

We pray the treatment is effective, and that side effects are manageable.

We pray for Christian's strength physically, mentally, emotional, and spiritually.

It doesn't hurt to continue to pray for "spontaneous regression", meaning the nodules are already shrinking in size (because the main tumor source is gone).  That indeed would be miraculous!

Thank you so much for your prayers and support.

Keri
