On Wednesday, Christan begins treatment. You can read the update below that Nancy emailed yesterday which covers about everything:
Wednesday, Christian, Keri, and I went to Dr. Rushing's, the oncology specialist in sarcoma at IU Cancer Center, to get set up for Christian's treatments. He had a follow up CT scan for a base line. He hadn't had one since the end of October. Some spots in his lungs grew slightly, others didn't change and even one was smaller. He then had more blood taken and gave approval for being a part of the test study on a new drug. I was hoping to know if he would or wouldn't be on the study before I sent out an email, but we won't find that out until Tuesday if he is on the study. He has a 50% chance of being picked for that study.
After this, he then had to have an EKG and a nuclear heart scan to make sure his heart is strong enough for the treatment and to have a good base line to make sure all is going well along the way.
He will get his central line put in on Tuesday and then start his chemo on Wednesday, with an over night stay that first night, so they can monitor him and do continue blood draws through the night.
Thanks to all again for your wonderful support and prayers. They are so appreciated and effective. I would ask if you would continue to pray for God's will if he should be in the study group, for no complications or bad side effects, totally effective treatment, and for peace and comfort.
Blessing to all. Love, Nancy
p.s. (just a side note) Christian asked the doctor how long he thought he had had this 19cm tumor. The doctor said, "How old are you?" Christian, of course, replied "37" and the doctor said, "Oh, probably 30 years.." Christian has always been remarkably healthy and never had a symptom. Go figure, life is so strange. Just never take a day for granted.

Where does Optimus fit into this?
On Friday, Christian discovered a care package at the front door. Inside was what looked like a robot, maybe a gift for Luke (he's really into robots right now). Turns out, it's meant for Christian. He is now the beholder of a huge Optimus Prime. Optimus makes his way around the office to honor colleagues for certain accomplishments, etc. We think it's pretty cool!
So, I'll leave you all with some wise words from Optimus:

Happy birthday, Lily!
