According to our calculations, it will take about 15 pounds of sugar for Lily to reach her lemonade stand goals this year. That's enough sugar for lemonade and cookies to serve 200 people. That's right, we're hoping to see some of you among the 200 we're planning for!
So, just in case you missed the announcement via Facebook, telegram, skywriting, etc....
Lily will be holding her
2nd annual lemonade stand this Saturday. It will be located at the playground in the
Meadow Bend Neighborhood off Frye Road in between Franklin and Shelbyville. I
know many of you like garage sales, so you’ll be happy to learn that this
neighborhood will be having their garage sales this same day. And, the stand
will be conveniently located at the neighborhood playground, so that would be a
perfect stop if you have kiddos in tow.
But, the real reason I hope you choose to stop by is this…
All proceeds will go to causes benefiting cancer patients and their caregivers: the SON Foundation and the Chastain Family.
The SON Foundation will open its doors soon and provide a home for cancer patients to stay in while receiving treatment at IU. Their story is inspiring, and you can read more about it here. http://www.sonfoundationindy.org/
The other half of the proceeds will help a special family in our community, the Chastain Family, as the father, Andy, is undergoing treatment for brain cancer.
Why are these two causes important to Lily? Well, she thinks the SON Foundation is neat because it will be a second home to those IU cancer patients from out of town who are here to receive treatment. Also, she’s familiar with the Chastain family because we often pray for them. Her brother, Luke, attends bible school on Wednesdays with one of their boys, Rigg.
Last year, Lily raised over $600. This year, we are hoping to double it!
We hope to see some of you at the stand Saturday!
The Snyder Family
